The Three Pictures

A: YOUR BEST PIECE OF CREATIVE WORK BEFORE COMING TO THIS COURSE, THINK LATERALLY IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE "CONVENTIONAL" ART OR DESIGN WORK

I modelled a part of the Sydney Opera House with many balsa woods and super glues and some more of tools. It was one and a half years ago and I was having great fun with modelling it.
First of all, on the roof part, first layer to the last layer it has different heights that goes gradually taller to show what it looks like inside the roof and also gives a three dimensional effect. Keeping balsa woods bent was a tough job at first. They would not stay bent and kept going straight. So I put them in a hot water for a minute and dry them with a hair dryer while the balsa woods were fixed with some pins bending. After that, I put all those rectangular shaped in between them. I had to cut the both edges front and behind to match the angle, each layer has been bent so it has different angles on the front part and the back part.

Moreover, I tried to give the effect that substantial difference between those short and long straight legs hanging on the very end of the roof and curvy roof. I really like this work since I am fascinated with clean and nice patterned such as the perfectly regular spaces on the roof and as well as mesmerisingly curvy line.

B: AN IMAGE OF A GREAT PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE

The following building is Signature towers, also known as Dancing Towers, by Zaha Hadid. It is located in Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is used as mixed-use complex. It is 350.8m high and has a floor area of 560,000 m squared. It looks like it is dancing like a name of the building and it somehow greatly unites the whole buildings together as a one motion.

I like this building because it breaks the prejudice that rectangular shaped building can be designed curvily but still has pure beauty of upright line. I also want to strongly mention that it makes my heart flutter just the slightest mere sight of it because those amazingly but simply carved curvy lines as I mentioned and the use of material mingle incredibly. And most importantly, it is so modern!

C: AN ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH OF SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

This is a picture of Bondi beach and there are supposed to be many people at the beach. Although it might be photoshopped a little, the photo quietly gives anxiety because of the emptyness and the colour but somehow shows the feeling of hope and joy by the rainbow and the clear sky.

Also, magnificant fiery clouds covering the beach sky and a slight sight of rainbow in a hypnotic sunset and in opposition to that there is a small clean blue sky on the edge fasinated me. A variety of feelings are contained in this shot.
